"In our business, there will always be some special customers whom you meet that you remember fondly. In my case, it was Mr Charlie Koh. He came to a hearing centre I was working in and asked for an adjustment for his hearing aid and that's how our friendship started.
Charlie used many hearing aids in his life and he was one of the most knowledgeable customers I've ever met despite never having any engineering or technical education. But he was also one of the most affable and kindest persons I've ever met. He visited my centre often just to discuss hearing aids and anything under the sun! From him, I gained an invaluable insight into the mind and heart of someone going through long term hearing loss. Charlie had a very magnanimous heart and often urged me to share his knowledge and experience to others so that they too would benefit, and I frequently did so. I learnt very much from Charlie and was proud to call him my friend and customer. Mr Charlie Koh Yak Kern passed away on 8th Sept 2012 at the age of 72.
The KERN CRM is named in Charlie's memory, as a reminder to ourselves that every effort and advancement we make in our business and service, is done to continuously deliver outstanding care and attention to outstanding friends and customers like Mr Charlie Koh."
